Brian Trautschold – JumpCon 2019 Culture Panelist

Brian Trautschold JumpCon

Meet Brian Trautschold, one of our panelists at JumpCon, the inaugural Digital Transformation Summit. He will speak on the culture panel, sharing his knowledge of what it takes to create a successful sales culture.

Join us in Nashville, Tennessee, aka Music City, on October 24th, 2019 to hear speakers like Brian talk about sales, marketing, and beyond.

Why JumpCon: The Digital Sales Transformation Summit

JumpCon is a one-day event bringing together sales leaders, marketers, and business owners from across the country to talk about growing businesses through digital sales and marketing transformation.

Why Brian Trautschold?

Brian Trautschold is the co-founder of Ambition. If you haven’t come across Ambition, you must not be on the sales side of the game. Let me fill you in. Their website starts off with: “You’re a sales manager, not a mathematician”.

Through establishing driving factors for sales teams, culture was an obvious ingredient. Things like leaderboards and gamification were derived from an effort to establish a gritty and overall positive culture at sales organizations. Brian did an interview with Sales Hacker on company culture which is what he will speak about at JumpCon. He mentioned these “7 must-have habits for a winning sales culture”:

  • Your Culture
  • Clear KPIs
  • Intentional goals
  • Coaching initiative
  • Healthy competition
  • Transparency and visibility
  • Data-driven decision making

In fact, those are exactly the results that Ambition’s tools provide its customers. Ambition takes the tech work off the plates of sales managers while providing coaching and other tools to improve performance.

Brian and the Ambition team created software to provide:

  • Dashboards & alerts
  • Goals, awards, and clubs
  • Big-screen leaderboards
  • Scorecards
  • Gamification
  • Coaching

To prove that Ambition works, The Harvard Business Review recently conducted a study of Ambition & a Berkshire Hathaway Company. The results were promising: an 18% spike in outbound calls, 2X the percentage of calls that resulted in an appointment and increased the number of transferred calls 8X.

Getting to know Brian Trautschold

One special thing about you that is not in your bio? I have 2 young kids, and while a lot of people think you work harder / more effectively in your 20s (typically before kids), I feel there are some super powerful advantages to having children in your life. Specifically when it comes to being more empathetic as a leader.

What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than work? The upcoming NBA basketball season.

Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world? I think this topic of digital transformation is affecting sales and is a really difficult topic for large mid-market and enterprise organizations.

If you haven’t gotten a ticket to JumpCon, do it.

Meet Adolfo Velasquez – JumpCon 2019 Panelist

Adolfo Valasquez jumpcon

Meet Adolfo Velasquez, one of our panelists at JumpCon, the inaugural Digital Transformation Summit. Adolfo will participate in the future of publishing panel along with Nancy Meyer and Gotham Sharma, moderated by Eric Busby

Join us in Nashville, Tennessee, aka Music City, on October 24th, 2019 to hear speakers like Adolfo talk about sales, marketing, and beyond.

Why JumpCon: The Digital Sales Transformation Summit

JumpCon is a one-day event bringing together sales leaders, marketers, and business owners from across the country to talk about growing businesses through digital sales and marketing transformation.

Why Adolfo Velasquez?

Because he has digitally transformed AHRN and MyBaseGuide, two of JumpCrew’s earliest acquisitions. At the time these two organizations we’re majority print and underwent a massive digital transformation under Adolfo’s hands-on direction.

Pre-JumpCrew, Adolfo mostly specialized in selling and managing national accounts. With 14+ years of experience handling large accounts, he was a perfect fit to lead when AHRN was a client and the obvious choice to work solely on the account once JumpCrew acquired the company.

An update on AHRN and MyBaseGuide: both companies were commissioned by the Department of Defense for the express purpose of migrating the US Military around the world. Today the number one goal is to create an environment that helps military relocate and live on installations. Adolfo has overseen the modernization of both digital assets and the integration of audiences between the two business units.

Now, Adolfo is heading up JumpTour, the natural result of modernizing ARHN and MyBaseGuide. Through the creation of the combined military audience network, companies who partner with JumpTour have the opportunity to reach 2.9 million users.adolfo velasquez jumptour

You may think you have Adolfo pegged. However, he just walked into the office decked in full motorcycle gear and used to run a Spanish television show. Keep reading for more about Adolfo and grab a ticket to JumpCon if you haven’t.

Getting to know Adolfo Velasquez

One special thing about you that is not in your bio? I used to run a Television show that aired on NBC/Telemundo – it was sort of like The Tonight Show but in Spanish. Guests included Ms. Universe, Mexico’s World Cup Captain, comedians, and musicians.

What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than work?  On topic: Publishing channels have evolved from newsprint to digital, and now to new formats: podcasts, daily newsletters and push notifications. How do we get the most audience engagement from the delivery of each format? How do we monetize those new formats? Is gated or partially-gated content that drives signups or subscriptions better for publishers than the pageviews, ranks, and traffic that are derived from ungated content?

Off-topic: what hardware segment (like watches or smart homes) are underdeveloped from a technology standpoint?

Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world? When Robert asked me to help start JumpCrew three years ago, what excited me the most was the opportunity to create a deliberate path to revenue for startups and established companies in transition. Today the company has evolved beyond that original premise and I view JumpCon as the physical manifestation of that success. I would not miss being part of it!

Again, if you haven’t acquired a ticket to JumpCon, give in to the peer pressure. You won’t regret it.

Meet Eric Busby – JumpCon 2019 Panelist

eric busby jumpcon

Meet Eric Busby, one of our panelists at JumpCon, the inaugural Digital Transformation Summit. The future of publishing panel will walk audience members through the challenges and opportunities within the publishing industry.

Join us in Nashville, Tennessee, aka Music City, on October 24th, 2019 to hear speakers like Eric talk about sales, marketing, and beyond.

Why JumpCon: The Digital Sales Transformation Summit

JumpCon is a one-day event bringing together sales leaders, marketers, and business owners from across the country to talk about growing businesses through digital sales and marketing transformation.

Why Eric  Busby?

Eric has been in the tech world since 1989 (according to his LinkedIn account). After spending 20 years in Cali’s software industry in CIO/CTO roles, he co-founded an ad tech company focused on delivering results for advertisers across all digital channels. Because Eric started in the tech space before it was trending (and because he’s absurdly talented), he quickly became a highly sought after speaker and instructor in the software engineering space. During this time, he spent several years spreading his knowledge to software developers in Silicon Valley. Eric then moved on to his first CTO role, and the rest is history. Except for the companies he worked with…

  • RAND Corporation
  • Los Alamos National Labs
  • IBM
  • Chevron
  • Toshiba
  • Broadcom
  • Hewlett-Packard
  • Nissan
  • AT&T
  • Microsoft
  • Transamerica
  • Southern California Edison
  • Walt Disney Company
  • Toyota
  • Pepsico
  • Warner Bros.
  • McDonnel Douglas Space Systems
  • Boeing
  • Hughes Radar Systems
  • Rockwell
  • Applied Materials

Moving on to Eric’s most recent venture, AdCritter. Honestly, I’m glad that Eric started AdCritter because the list above wasn’t impressive enough. He and co-founder/CEO Gabriel Smith realized that the world of programmatic advertising required companies to be well-versed in the digital ecosystem and all of its acronyms, jargon, and methods; typically this meant hiring a team of experts.

eric busby adcritter

Not satisfied with the lack of simplicity needed for most businesses, AdCritter was created. It offers a simplified user experience and all of the power of programmatically addressing the 40% of digital inventory not available through the duopoly. Today, in addition to serving advertisers directly, Eric also leads the effort to serve as an ad tech partner to leading sales and marketing organizations.

On top of Eric’s technical prowess, he is a relentless innovator with a mind-blowing grasp of multiple industries and functional business areas. He has a personal passion to find alignment between technical solutions and the transformative mechanisms they empower in fast-paced and growing companies.

Grab a ticket to hear Eric speak if you haven’t already.

Getting to know Eric Busby

One special thing about you that is not in your bio?   I am a beekeeper. The world of honeybees is not only rewarding (we have plenty of honey around the house) but also full of fascinating learning opportunities. Some of my best inspirations for complex system designs have come while learning about managing millions of bees in their colonies. The only bummer is when I get stung from time to time.

What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than work?  Helping recent veterans find purpose and work as they transition out of the military. These are some of the most talented young people I come across and I want to help them catapult into their next chapters.

Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world? Well, one of my favorite places in the world IS the intersection between Sales/Marketing and Technology… so in a way, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else than at JumpCon.

Here’s the ticket link again if you missed the above plug for tickets. Click on it, buy a ticket, you know the drill.

Meet Jacqueline Hayes – JumpCon Women’s Panel Speaker

Jacqueline Hayes JumpCon

Meet Jacqueline Hayes, one of our Women’s Panel speakers at JumpCon, our inaugural Digital Transformation Summit. This panel will discuss diversity in the workplace.

Join us in Nashville, Tennessee, aka Music City, on October 24th, 2019 to hear speakers like Dr. Warner talk about sales, marketing, and beyond.

Why JumpCon: The Digital Sales Transformation Summit

JumpCon is a one-day event bringing together sales leaders, marketers, and business owners from across the country to talk about growing businesses through digital sales and marketing transformation.

Why Jacqueline Hayes?

Founder of Crayons & Marketers, Jacqueline Hayes, has an impressive business and marketing career. However, it’s her list of involvements that caught our eye for this panel. Here are a couple of things on her resume:

Let’s go back to Crayons & Marketers for a second. Crayons & Marketers is a WBENC certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) through the Metro Nashville Airport Authority, certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) through the TN Governor’s Office of Diversity Business Enterprise, and certified Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) through the SBA, as well as an approved Vendor with MDHA and Metro Nashville & Davidson County, Office of Minority & Women Business Assistance.

jacqueline hayes

Before she started Crayons & Marketers, Jacqui put in 20 years of work in sales and marketing, operations, and client relationship management. Need we say more? Jacqui set a goal, started a company, has multiple women & diversity certifications, and volunteers her time for women in business – an obvious choice for the women’s panel.

Getting to Know Jacqueline Hayes

We asked Jacqui three questions to get to know her better beyond that impressive bio. Here’s what she told us.

  1. Name one special thing about you that is not in your bio? I am a gym rat, have been since high school. Physical fitness and well-being are extremely important to me.
  2. What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than sales and marketing? I would love to chat about the positive things in their life outside of work. We often tie work to our happiness and abandon hobbies we love because we’re busy. I’d love to know what they like to do, like putting together 1,000 piece puzzles or cooking.
  3. Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world? I rarely miss an opportunity to empower women. Our time is now and we need to continue to elevate the power of the female collective!

Grant Barnes – JumpCon 2019 Culture Panelist

Grant Barnes JumpCon

Meet Grant Barnes, one of our panelists at JumpCon, the inaugural Digital Transformation Summit. He will stun the crowd with his deep knowledge of company culture on the “Culture Panel: How To Hire, Motivate, and Train Staff To Build Great Culture”.

Join us in Nashville, Tennessee, aka Music City, on October 24th, 2019 to hear speakers like Grant Barnes talk sales, marketing, and beyond.

Why JumpCon: The Digital Sales Transformation Summit

JumpCon is a one-day event bringing together sales leaders, marketers, and business owners from across the country to talk about growing businesses through digital sales and marketing transformation.

Why Grant Barnes?

Grant has held management roles for 10+ years with his current role being Director of Business Development at Dialpad. He’s a natural sales leader, specializing in growing and developing teams.

Grant Barnes Dialpad JumpCon

Grant is passionate about hiring and developing talent, building processes, and scaling sales organizations. Before Dialpad, he was the senior director of sales development for Tenfold and worked as a sales manager at Cloudera for 3+ years.  It’s also important to note that at Cloudera, he led his inside sales team through their IPO. A feat that doesn’t often go smoothly.

On a recent Outreach.io panel, Grant said, “You can’t teach height. Just like you can’t teach hunger, curiosity, and drive. I can teach tactics and enable them with the specialization of the job. But once you find those people, you’re golden and that’s what I think makes or breaks the growth of your team.”

As we work to tie marketing and sales within digital sales transformation, creativity comes into play. Grant says, “I like to lead my team so that they have the autonomy from the messaging and tools to be creative and share with the rest of the team. I want them to test and come up with new strategies.“

Take a few culture pointers from Grant Barnes and the rest of the culture panel. Grab a ticket if you haven’t yet.

One special thing about you that is not in your bio?

I maaaay have raised an alligator in my apartment in college. My roommate and I were the best gator mothers West of Florida.

…until the incident.

What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than work?

Topics I enjoy talking about include but are not limited to the following: reading (always looking for my next book to devour), outdoors activities (camping, hiking, national parks, etc.), fitness (clean eating, weights, running), woodworking (love the smell of sawdust in the morning), the sky (enamored by everything about it).

Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world?

My psychic told me that I should be in Nashville on October 24th, so it’s a “two birds, one stone” scenario.

Christy Pruitt-Haynes – JumpCon Women’s Panel Speaker

Christy Pruitt-Haynes JumpCon

Christy Pruitt-Haynes will be one of the panelists for the women’s panel at our JumpCon Digital Sales Transformation Summit. The event is Thursday, October 24th, 2019 in Music City, TN. Some people call it Nashville.

Either way, here’s another reason that you should buy a ticket: Christy Pruitt-Haynes.

Why JumpCon: The Sales Digital Transformation Summit

JumpCon was created to help you learn how to integrate sales and marketing to grow revenue, leads, and brand awareness.

Why Christy?

The first reason that we’re excited about Christy speaking on the women’s panel is that she’s actionable. Through 20 years of executive and entrepreneurial experience, she observed that regardless of industry or organization, not enough women and minorities are at the table. As a woman in business, she knew that women are more than capable of contributing, so, what gives?

Instead of leaving her observation at just that, she set out to change things. This brings us to the second reason we wanted Christy at JumpCon: she started her own company. Christy Pruitt-Haynes Consulting was born from the problem Christy recognized, her constant desire to solve tangible business problems, and years of cross-functional leadership experience.

Before founding Christy Pruitt-Haynes Consulting, she held positions at Infiniti Americas/Nissan, CMT, and the Memphis Grizzlies. A third reason we’re big Christy fans: she’s the youngest person to ever run an HR department for an NBA team. Pretty legit, huh?

Christy Pruitt-Haynes Consulting

Since founding her company, Christy has been adding achievement after achievement to her list. Her offerings include innovative speaking, training, and coaching to help individuals and organizations of all sizes maximize their bottom lines by creating cultures of excellence. She’s consulted for a few companies recently. The list includes but is definitely not limited to, TEDxNashville, Dollar General, Nissan, Rutherford County Cable, SHRM, Auburn University, The Entrepreneur’s Center, and the International Conference on Diversity.

As if that wasn’t enough, Christy also serves on the advisory board for Pathway Women’s Business Center and the Speakers Selection Committee for TEDxNashville. When she’s not making the world a better place, she’s laughing with friends, traveling the world, sipping on cabernet, or singing slightly off-key at a karaoke bar.

We’re more than thrilled to have Christy on the women’s panel at JumpCon. She’s truly contagious—you’ll see.

Getting to know Christy Pruitt-Haynes

We asked Christy three questions to help you get to know her.

Here are her answers:

  1. Name one special thing about you that is not in your bio? I need laughter and the energy of other fun optimistic people the way most folks need oxygen.
  2. What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than sales and marketing? Coffee, Cabernet and carefully curated Chaos!  Also, music, travel (especially international), whatever causes uncontrollable laughter and all the reasons we need to love every part of ourselves more.
  3. Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world? There are 3 main reasons I instantly said yes to speaking at JumpCon:
    – The JumpCon site starts with one of my favorite things, music, and used the word badass in the description of my session…if those 2 things don’t spell Christy I don’t know what does.
    – I honestly love helping people succeed in their professional lives and would absolutely do it for free had I been born wealthy instead of the brilliant, beautiful comedian that I am.
    – JumpCon shows people, in no uncertain terms, that boldly living your brand in every decision your business makes is one of the best ways to ensure sales and growth and I wholeheartedly believe that, so I had to be a part of this!

max stossel jumpcon speaker

Meet Max Stossel, one of our speakers at JumpCon, the inaugural Digital Transformation Summit. Max’s performance, “Feeding The Algorhythm”, will artfully articulate how to digitally transform your business in a responsible way.

Join us in Nashville, Tennessee, aka Music City, on October 24th, 2019 to hear speakers like Gotham talk about sales, marketing, and all things digital transformation.

Why JumpCon: The Digital Sales Transformation Summit

JumpCon is a conference bringing together sales leaders, marketers, and business owners from across the country to talk about growing businesses through digital sales and marketing transformation.

Why Max Stossel?

Because he’s an award-winning poet, that’s why. Poetry might seem slightly off-base for a sales and marketing conference but alas, it is not. He has extensive media strategy expertise and learned in-depth the ins and outs of the facebook algorithm. Max is coming to JumpCon to help everyone safely (for man-kind) digitally transform through his message. He’s also known to get a laugh or two out of the audience, so come ready for that.

Background

Before recognizing his calling as a poet + filmmaker, Max ran social for multinational brands and later worked for a social media company designing notification structures that he now criticizes widely. He is currently the Head of Education for the Center for Humane Technology, an organization of former tech insiders and CEOs dedicated to realigning technology with humanity’s best interests.

So far in his career, Max has performed across five continents, from Lincoln Center in NY to the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney. Some people describe him as mind-expanding, profound, emotive, and hilarious all at once. Forbes recognized Max as one of the best storytellers of the year. Storytelling is a vital part of marketing, and a skill that salespeople can benefit from learning as well – another reason we’re bringing Max to JumpCon.

He exudes all of this knowledge through poetry which makes Max perfect for this event. His intersection of creativity and industry knowledge is simply, excellent.

Getting to know Max

We asked Max Stossel three questions to help you get to know him.

Here are his answers:

  1. Name one special thing about you that is not in your bio?  I’ve been studying how to help people figure out and define their values, as well as the creative process.
  2. What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than sales and marketing? The answer to the previous question, also art & consciousness.
  3. Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world? To share a message that is so close to my heart.

Lucky you, for the low price of only $235, you can experience the phenomenon that is Max Stossel. Score a ticket, here.

The Future Of Publishing

jumpcon panel - the future of publishingThis panel with Nancy Meyer, GM of Tribune Publishing, Gotham Sharma, Managing Director of Exeltex Consulting, and Adolfo Velasquez, VP of AHRN/MyBaseGuide at JumpCrew will get to the core of the evolution of publishing while covering the major threats and opportunities for media companies. We’ll also talk about what Tribune has done to push the future of publishing forward. If you work for a publishing or media company like The Tennessean, Nashville Business Journal, Vice, etc., this talk will directly benefit you.

If you haven’t bought a ticket to JumpCon yet, click here. You don’t want to miss this panel.

The Speakers

Nancy Meyer has evolved as the publishing landscape has rapidly changed. During this digital transformation, she brought numerous bigwig publishing companies along for the ride. You might have heard of USA Today, Gannett Newspapers, The Hartford Courant, or Tribune Publishing to name a few.

Gotham Sharma is an award-winning cybersecurity expert helping academic, financial, marketing, and nonprofits secure their data and business operations. Click here to read more about Gotham, like the fact that he recently won Cybersecurity Educator of the Year.

Adolfo Velasquez had a major hand in digitally transforming JumpCrew’s earliest acquisitions: AHRN & MyBaseGuide. Learn from his experience at JumpCon. Read more about him here.

The Moderator

Eric Busby will be guiding the panel. If you haven’t heard of him, I’ll give you a brief synopsis: After spending 20 years in Cali’s software industry in CIO/CTO roles, he co-founded an ad tech company focused on delivering results for advertisers across all digital channels. Beyond that, you’ll have to check out his speaker blog.

What You’ll Learn

The main concerns for the publishing industry revolve around new technology opportunities, advertising revenue expectations based on engagement, and consumer evolvement. If publishers aren’t utilizing the newest technology, traffic will decline. This isn’t a reference to the best tech, it means the latest tech—opportunities like alternative reality, experiential marketing, and integrated social media.

jumpcon panel - virtual reality glasses

The goal is getting consumers to develop a bond with your brand. Step one to meeting that goal is ensuring that consumers have an omnichannel experience. Not only has technology changed, but consumers have as well. They’ve developed an impatience that comes along with access to faster technology and an expectation to be entertained 24/7. If publishers don’t conform to the new norm, they won’t survive.

Nancy Meyer and the companies she’s worked with have mastered digital transformation by keeping up with new technological options.

One special thing about you that is not in your bio?

I have a rather large obsession with the author Hunter S. Thompson, and I have been writing a novel for the past 10 years that may never get published, but I hope to finish it.

What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than work?

The joys of having 2 kids under 4 and how to get any work done with them around. I’m also a pretty big punk rock fan, so if you want to chat about the punk scene in your area, I’m always down.

Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world?

What better place to ‘geek out’ than in the beautiful Music City? I’ve never been to a conference in Nashville, even though I know that there are a lot of talented marketers in the city and surrounding areas, so check that off the bucket list.

Getting to know Gotham Sharma

We asked Gotham three questions to get to know him better beyond that impressive bio. Here’s what he told us.

One special thing about you that is not in your bio?

My nights are spent at comedy clubs; when I’m not speaking, teaching, or otherwise engaged with work, you’ll find me on stage telling jokes!

What would you love to chat about with conference attendees other than work?

I’m always interested in learning about what truly excites people and how it gives them meaning and purpose. So, if you run into me at JumpCon, be forewarned… we won’t be chatting about the weather or your local sports team 🙂

Why speak at JumpCon when you could be anywhere in the world?

My background is in cybersecurity and digital privacy: historically, these are fields that have had somewhat of an adversarial relationship with sales and marketing. I’m attending JumpCon to help facilitate a discussion that that can help bridge this divide and potentially inform best practices.
