Selling During Times of Crisis.

JumpCrew by the Numbers

In recent weeks, we have all fallen under the effects of the COVID-19 global pandemic. While we don’t know the future, I know that we’re all in this together and this is a challenge we will overcome. Many Americans have, for the first time, been forced to work from home. Last week, we directed our team to do the same. Deciding to send our workforce home was the easy part of the decision for us; planning, implementing and executing was not. We have close to 100 people supporting our sales teams and we realize not all businesses have the same capabilities and resources. As the leader of a technology-driven company with over 40 sales teams, 250 salespeople, supporting numerous products, industries, and partners, I’m sharing our expertise to help other business leaders get through these tough times. Our crew will continue sharing sales and marketing trends from the front lines of the many businesses we serve.

Social Distancing

JumpCrew’s mission is to help our clients acquire more customers. We do that through what we call FullFunnel outsourced sales and marketing.

Our clients represent a broad swath of b2b industries. Technology, Media and Healthcare are well-represented sectors, as are Financial and Automotive software. Although the changes in the business environment have presented operational challenges, for our clients, we have always been remote. That gives us a unique perspective into the sales universe. We analyze data from over 250 JumpCrew salespeople and lead generation campaigns every week.

Tips to keep your sales organization on track during turbulence

Lead with empathy

We are all going through something that has never happened to most of us. There is a struggling human being on the other line or receiving side of your email. Listen to them to understand what they need and how you can help.

Redirect your resources

Were you counting on leads from the conference that got canceled? Using tools like Outreach.io, you can automate outbound activities against the list of attendees you were hoping to convert in person. Vidyard is another great tool to create a face-to-face connection.

Target, target, target

Audience development, industry segmentation and tailored messaging are even more important now. Use available data to determine who you are reaching out to and why. Focus on the industries that are accelerating like conferencing technology, automation tools, financial lending, and online learning. Create messaging that speaks specifically to those industries. Let your prospects know how you can help now and how the work you do now will help them thrive in the future.

Get creative

Think about ways you can bring your product or service to your clients remotely. Revisit processes and consider new use cases for current and potential clients. Check out this blog post on all of the technology we use, enabling us to support our clients remotely.

Keep culture alive

Keeping your teams connected and your company culture strong must be a priority. Isolation will add stress and anxiety to an already emotional situation. To combat isolation, we recommend keeping a video call open for employees to pop in to say “hey”, to brainstorm a deal, talk strategy, or to do a “pet show and tell”. We dedicate time on Mondays for teams to have a “weekend update”. We also recommend having virtual happy hours to blow off steam together. Overall, encouraging communication, connection and staying positive is very important.
